Composite Doors FAQs

Composite doors are manufactured using a number of different materials, including internal insulation, a timber core and glass reinforced polyester (GRP) skins. These are combined together under high pressure conditions, making them sturdier, more durable and more secure than other types of door.

While composite doors are made from various materials, uPVC doors are largely plastic. This means that, although the cost of composite doors may be higher, they are more robust against weathering, provide superior security and heat retention, as well as lasting for longer. This makes them a popular choice.

If you wish to repaint your composite doors to change colour or to maintain its appearance, it's important that you use the right type of paint. The majority of composite doors have an acrylic paint finish. However, even with the correct composite door paint type, make sure you check your warranty first, as painting could potentially void your protection.
