A sash window is one with two frames that can both slide vertically, thus allowing for greater airflow. The sash itself is composed of panels of glass, individually called lights. The traditional sash window is made of multiple square lights held together by a grid of bars. A sash is technically the frame that holds the pieces of the window together as a single component. As opposed to a window in which the frame is built into the wall, the sash makes the glass independent of the wall and lets it move. you can be sure that your new windows will make your home complete.
Finding the perfect colour for your uPVC windows can be hard, but with our interactive coloured window selector tool below you can see what your new windows could look like in any of our ten colour offering
We've designed our Legacy™ Sash windows with a clever balance mechanism for an easy, smooth operation. No old box sash, no cords and no weights for a simpler smoother glide. Both sashes adjust separately or can be opened together and both feature an innovative tilt mechanism, allowing the glass to be tilted inwards for ventilation or cleaning. Our uPVC sliding sash windows open smoothly, with ease using a smart balance mechanism so you've no need to worry about snagging cords or jammed pulleys. They also meet the fire safety 'means of escape' requirements in case of emergency.
An important consideration when choosing windows is insulation. Windows with poor frames or weak glazing often make homes more difficult to heat, as warmth escapes out through them. Our Envisage flush windows have an innovative coating in the glass to prevent this.
